"Whooooooa!" she says, scrambling in an attempt to regain her hooves . . . but too late to prevent herself from careening into a snowdrift lining the edge of the bridge. After a moment, the little pony pops her head out of the snowbank, topped with a comical cap of fluffy snow. "Whew! Good thing the snowbank was here!" she exclaims. Unlike her pastel compatriots, this pony's coat is pure black. "Sorry about . . . you know." "Oh, that's okay." The mare tosses her head, sending a spray of half-melted snow from her cranberry tresses. "I'm Snow Shadow, by the way." "Ohh, okay. Zephyr said you would know what's new in the Waylands . . ." "That's right! I'm the official messenger for the Zenith Citadel, so I'm in the know." She winks. "Here's what's new . . ."
December 5, 2001 - Actually, it's almost the 6th . . . I'm a night owl, you know. ^_^ Anyway, since Ray is looking rather barren with all it's CGI-related features gone (see below), I quickly threw together a new subpage. It's the Picture of the Week! Hopefully I'll be able to update it in a timely manner, but I'm not making any guarantees. December 4, 2001 - Okay, this is funny in a "Ha ha, there's a fork in my eye" kind of way. So my site goes down and I quickly e-mail Your-Site, ready to chew them out if it's another "oops, we forgot to reregister your site" situation. But no, nothing so simple. "We discovered over the weekend that approximently 25,000 spam emails were sent from your account," the customer service staffer explained. Apparently my outdated version of my form CGI code (which I picked up from a freeware site) was giving out secret CGI signals that roughly translated into "Hello, spammers! Please exploit and abuse me!" Twenty-five thousand e-mails. As a result, everything requiring CGI scripts (guestbook, webring, census) are temporarily unavailable while I take down the current CGI scripts and search for some that are less vunerable. I'll try to get some treats up to make up for it, though. Also, a few people have asked me if I'm running another Harvest Festival. Well, since it's now December, you've probably figured out that I'm not. ^_^'' Truth is, I'm only organized enough to do one every two years. I might run a mini-contest one of these days, though, so keep an eye out! ^_^
December 1, 2001 - Yep, it's time for a new Pony of the Month. I briefly entertained thoughts of using Merry Treat as the PotM, but then I realized I couldn't stand her color scheme and anyway, it's not very festive to display a December PotM whose symbol is a representation of what Santa might look like if he'd been floating in the river for a few days. So instead I chose Ice Crystal. ^_^ November 7, 2001 - Just put up a new Pony of the Month! ^_^ This time it's *drumroll* Peach Blossom, my former namesake! October 26, 2001 - I just posted the "official" first chapter of the My Little Beast Wars saga. *G* Hosted on my Transformers site for now, but that will change eventually. ^_^ Originally MLBW was going to be a one shot crossover. (Ironically, the original story STILL isn't finished. Basically, I got some pretty funny plot ideas and decided to make it a series. The episodes take forever to complete, though, so don't expect them too frequently. ^_~ Anyway, be sure to check out My Little Beast Wars: The Beginning. *G* October 19, 2001 - I don't know why, but I keep forgetting this page exists. Not the whole site, just this page. Ironic, huh? Well, a lot has happened in the world since the last update. Like everyone else, I was shocked and horrified by the 9/11 bombings. If you can help the New York victims even a little bit, whether it's financially, spiritually, or morally, please do. Donating to the Red Cross is a good way to start. As for the site news, I updated the Pony of the Month page (twice--I just forgot to list it here ^_^''') The September PoTM was Baby Moondancer and the October pony is the infamous Munchy. I also added a crop of new fanfics. The new stories are Encyclopedia Brown and the Case of the Colorful Ponies (really only makes sense if you read Encyclopedia Brown books as a kid ^_~), Chairface Chippendale vs. My Little Pony (which is actually a very OLD fic from 1998 that I found in the dusty sections of Hal Jr.'s memory banks--excuse the somewhat crude graphics), The Dating Game (very, very strange humor fic), and Catrina (sort of a retelling/rewrite of the special Escape from Catrina. Wishful, the bushwoolie in Catrina, gave me all kinds of trouble, as I couldn't remember what color he was. Blue? Purple? I decided he was blue and went with that, but it turns out he was purple. Except in the movie, where he was blue. And the TV show, where he was pink. And I also thought the blue toy bushwoolie, Princess Tiffany's, was Wishful when he was really Friendly. Basically, I got all screwed up. Oh well. (These ravings will make more sense after you read the story, I promise. ^_~) August 11, 2001 - I took down the Prettiest Pony Poll for the moment because I'm getting ready for a move and I just do not have time to update it each week and count the votes. :( Sorry. It may be resurrected after I actually move. In the meantime, you can enjoy the less labor-intensive Pony of the Month feature! ^_^ This month's pony is, of course, Skydancer. ^_~ July 22, 2001 - Added another fanfic. (Astounding, I know. ^_~) It's Yesterday's Hero and it's an origin fic for the Clydesdales, of all ponies! Very violent and pretty disjointed. ^_^ July 8, 2001 - GREAT RAINBOW ABOVE!!! You would not believe what I just went through to get this site up and running again. Here's a sample of the dialogue between myself and the Your-Site support team: Me: My website has mysteriously disappeared off the face of the Internet. Help! Them: We have reset your server. Try it now. Me: No, it still doesn't work. My user ID is [user id here], if that helps. Them: Okay, try it now. Me: No, I still can't log in with my FTP program. My password is [password here], if that helps. Them: Okay, try it now. Me: It's not working!! [Several months and dozens of e-mails later . . .] Them: Oh, look, it's because we forgot to reregister your domain name! Ha ha! Me: Ha. Ha. -_- No, to be fair the support staff was very helpful and always polite, even though they must have been getting tired of getting e-mails with titles like "HELP! My FTP server STILL isn't working" and "Okay . . . still having problems". ^_^ Anyway, I updated the Prettiest Pony Poll for the first time in forever. ^_^'' September 24, 2000 - Okay, I finally changed the Prettiest Pony Poll. ^_^'' I put Bright Eyes up against Mimic . . . I just got Bright Eyes yesterday and she is GORGEOUS! Easily the most beautiful Twinkle-Eyed pony I've ever seen! Also, I now have two Hasbro Toy Fair Catalogs (1988 and 1990.) There are TONS of variations in there! Plus they listed Steamer as "Casey" for some reason! O_o Anyway, I already listed a few of the variants on the Pony Prototypes page. Hmm, what else . . . oh yes, I added over fifty new images to Crazy Jack's Free Pics. Most of them are from UK comics . . . I love those things! ^_^ Well, that's it for now! ::subliminal message:: You really want to sell LM Starshine in Heart Throb's pose! September 24, 2000 - GEEZ it's been a long time since I updated! Bad LM! Lazy! Lazy! *whacks her hand* Um . . . where to start? Summerwing is retiring from the MLP community *sniff* and gave me P.A.I.N. (that's Ponies Against Image Nabbing, you smart alecks! ^_~) and the MLP Fanfic Mailing List. (Still need to get a page up for the mailing list . . . *sigh*) Of course, just as this was happening, I also decided to revive the Harvest Festival. (The first one was in 1998.) Crazy, crazy me. O_o Anyway, there are links to the Harvest Festival on all four of the main pages. So far I've put up voting booths for the Harvest Queen and Harvest King (I'm secretly hoping Skydancer will win--he's my favorite! ^_^ Well, not so secretly now that I've posted it here, I guess. ^_~) You can also compete in the Fanfic Contest and the Happy Hooves Contest. (I may have a custom pony contest as well, but I haven't made up my mind yet.) I also got a new computer recently--NO MORE HAL!!!! *pops open a bottle of champagne and twirls a noisemaker* So HOPEFULLY no more computer problems for a while! *crosses hooves* August 6, 2000 - I'm still having e-mail problems. :P Evil, evil Hal! I'll let you know when they're resolved. Again, I let the Prettiest Pony Poll run extra long . . . mostly because I wanted to have it switch off on Sundays again, when I have more time to scan in ponies. ^_^ The turnout last week was surprisingly low (especially considering how popular the two contestants were.) Anyhow, Dancing Butterflies nosed ahead of Milky Way. This week it's Cherries Jubilee and Tootsie. TWO PONIES ENTER! ONE PONY LEAVES! (Sorry, couldn't resist. *G*)
July 26, 2000 - I'm a day or two late changing the Prettiest Pony Poll, but oh
well. Curly Locks won over Braided Beauty last week--barely. I was actually quite surprised
at the closeness of the contest! This week, you can vote on two Twice-as-Fancy ponies,
Milky Way and Dancing Butterflies. I'm really interested to see how this one will turn out
as they are both extraordinarily lovely ponies. July 17, 2000 - Last week Gypsy won by a nose over Hopscotch in the Prettiest Pony Poll. This week, Curly Locks and Braided Beauty face off! July 7, 2000 - Updated the Prettiest Pony Poll. again. Now it's Gypsy vs. Hopscotch. (Best Wishes got trounced last week, in case you were wondering. Why do the ones I vote for always lose?) Also added a couple accessories to Bouquet's Accessory ID. Added the Fancy Pants Babies to the Official Names page. In addition, I put four new prototypes up--really strange Twinkle-Eyed ponies. Oh, and my e-mail's developed a fun little bug; it will RECEIVE mail, but it won't send it. *sigh* June 25, 2000 - Updated the Prettiest Pony Poll. Best Wishes is up against Wind Whistler.
