"If you want to meet Crazy Jack," Barnacle says, narrowly avoiding being sideswiped by a centaur, "there's his spot." He points a shaggy hoof towards the most ramshackle booth in the market place, (which is an impressive feat considering most of the booths have been made without the use of hands and are thus untidy as a rule.) A sign nailed above the booth--upside down--proclaims "Crazy Jack's Free Pics!" Indeed, some of the drawings have actually been tacked onto the splintery, leaning walls of the booth while others seem to lie in a disorderly sea of papers around the interior and exterior of the booth. From this distance, you can't judge their quality, but they certainly seem bright.

"I'd like to get a closer look at those pictures, Barnacle!"

Barnacle nods, plunging into the relentless crowd, and you follow him closely to avoid getting run over. The Clydesdale muscles his way past a group of minotaurs clad in Hawaiian shirts, miraculously reaching the booth in one piece. As you lean forward to examine the pictures, a bright green pony with amazingly purple hair explodes from the creased and crumpled ocean of sketches behind the booth.

"I'm Jack! Crazy Jack!" the new arrival announces gleefully as you gape in shock. Crazy Jack's faceted eyes gleam in the sunlight, and his symbol . . .

"What is that?" you query, pointing at the bizarre design on his flanks.

Crazy Jack twists his head around for a look, then shrugs amiably.

You try again. "Why don't you have a more . . . um . . . conventional symbol like the other ponies?"

The earthling's brow furrows in concentration for a moment, but he brightens as he supplies you with the answer: "Because I'm CRAZY!" As if to emphasize this, he breaks into maniacal laughter.

"We'd like to look at some of your pictures, Jack. Maybe take a few as souvenirs, if you don't mind," interrupts Barnacle, eyeing the other stallion warily.

Crazy Jack halts abruptly in mid-laugh. He rustles amongst the papers in a business-like (and almost sane) manner. "Sure, I've got lots of pictures here . . ." Then he freezes, slowly turns towards you, and suspiciously asks, "Are you going to give me credit for them?" His voice raises as he shrilly warns, "I belong to L.I.N.K.! You'd better give me credit for them!"

"We'll give you credit!" Barnacle hastily assures, backing up a few steps.

"Yes, yes!" you agree wholeheartedly, not particularly wanting to end up as a crime statistic.

"Good!" Crazy Jack says, all smiles again. "Now, take a look at these . . ."

These pictures are not to be redistributed without my express permission. They may not be registered with P.A.I.N. (Ponies Against Image Nabbing) unless they have been altered (i.e., you changed a picture of Whizzer into a picture of Starshine or something like that.)
